- Last assignment in 2006 was Lieutenant for Training and Compliance
- 12 years of service in the New York State Division of Homeland Security
- 29 years of service in the United States Army and New York Army National Guard. Deployments include: Response and Recovery efforts at Ground Zero and Iraq (2004 to 2005)
- Multiple awards, to include the Bronze Star, Iraq Campaign Medal and Global War on Terrorism Medal. Last assignment was Sergeant Major, retiring in 2009
- Lifetime member of the Veterans of Lansingburgh, Veterans of Foreign Wars (Poestenkill), Disabled Americans Chapter 38, Tri-County Chapter of the Vietnam Veterans, and the Lincoln and Welland Regiment Association
- Current member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, American Legion, District 2/North Central Neighborhood Association, and the Rensselaer County Honor a Deceased Veteran Committee
- Previously served on the Lansingburgh School Board, Lansingburgh Memorial Day Parade Committee and the Uncle Sam Graveside Committee
