[ARCHIVED] SOUSIE GUILTY PLEA FOR DEATH OF WIFE

Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that Mark Sousie, 59, of Lansingburgh pled guilty today in Rensselaer County Court of Murder in the 2nd
Degree, a class A felony (125.25 (1) for killing his estranged wife Lisa Sousie, on December 16, 2019.

Sousie shot his wife in her Lansingburgh home. Sousie then fled the home and was found in the alleyway behind the home by Troy police with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“The family has waited too long for Mr. Sousis to plea to this charge. We hope that this plea  brings them some comfort in light of the circumstances,” said District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly.

It is anticipated Judge Jennifer Sober will sentence Sousis to an 18 years-to-life sentence on March 2, 2022. Assistant District Attorney Cheryl McDermott prosecuted the case.
