ZEOLI FOUND GUILTY OF ATTEMPTED MURDER AND CRIMINAL POSESSION OF A WEAPON

Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that after a jury trial, Zach Zeoli, 23, of Troy was found guilty of Attempted Murder in the 2nd Degree, a class B violent Felony, in violation of Sections 110 and 125.25(1) and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 2nd Degree, a class C Armed Violent Felony, in violation of Section 265.03(3), of the Penal Law of the State of New York.

In 2022, Zeoli was accused of shooting a person known to him with a handgun on August 18th in the vicinity of 5th Avenue and Rensselaer Street, in Troy. The individual sustained injuries to his chest, neck and left hand.

“I want to thank the Troy Police detectives who worked to assemble all of the pertinent evidence needed in order to bring this case to prosecution,” said Chief Assistant District Attorney Matt Hauf, who prosecuted Zeoli.

Zeoli will be sentenced on October 19 where he will face a maximum sentence of 25 years in state prison.
