[ARCHIVED] JOSEPH DOMINQUEZ FOUND GUILTY OF MCMAHON MURDER IN LOVE TRIANGLE

 Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced today that after an almost two week trial, a Rensselaer County jury found Joseph Dominquez-Carle, 26, of Troy, guilty of Manslaughter in the 1st degree. He was found not guilty of the Murder in the 2nd degree charge. These charges stemmed from the January 2, 2020 stabbing death of Michael McMahon of Troy.

District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly stated that an indictment alleged that Dominquez-Carle was involved with a woman who was also involved with McMahon. Dominquez –Carle stabbed McMahon inside his President’s Street apartment, wrapped his body with his comforter and dumped McMahon in the woods in Greene County. 

Sentencing is scheduled for December 1, 2022. Dominquez-Carl faces up to 25 years in prison.

The Troy Police investigated the case, and Assistant District Attorneys Cheryl Botts and Antonia Edwards are handling the prosecution of the case.
