[ARCHIVED] PAROLEE TAKES A PLEA IN FEBRUARY ATTACK- SENTENCED TODAY

Troy, NY --Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly announced that Tyquan Victor, age 25, of the Bronx, pled guilty on August 23rd to one count of Attempted Assault in the 1st Degree, a Class C armed violent felony, in violation of Section 120.10, subdivision (1) of the Penal Law of the State of New York.

Victor was sentenced on September 14 to 8 years in state prison with 5 years post supervision.

Victor and three others were involved in a shooting on 2nd Street that began as a verbal dispute. Victor retrieved a loaded handgun and shot the victim on the street in the middle of the day.

Also arrested were Tyreek Stokes, 22 of Amsterdam, Rashon Dickerson, 24 of Troy and Jeffrey Jones, 24 of Manhattan on related charges. Their cases are being handled separately.

“This sentence is the direct result of a plea due to a witness refusing to prosecute their attacker,” said District Attorney Donnelly.

Assistant District Attorney Cheryl Botts prosecuted the case.
