Cherry Plain State Park has 175 acres and features a day use picnic area on Black River Pond, with a comfort station nearby. The park also has a boat launch, bridle paths and hiking, biking and nature trails that serve for cross-country skiing in the winter. Anglers fish for bass, bullheads and pickerel and may also ice fish in winter. The park has 10 trailer sites, 10 lakeside tent sites as well as 10 ""hike-in"" tent sites available for overnight camping.

Dyken Pond Environmental Education Center is a Rensselaer County park located in Grafton, New York. Open everyday of the year, visit and enjoy six miles of hiking trails, canoe, kayak and snowshoe rentals, fishing access and picnic sites. Kids Summer Camp, Junior Naturalist programs, School field trips, after school programs, outreach and public nature programs.
