The Rensselaer County Bureau of Public Safety dispatches and coordinates the various emergency services agencies throughout Rensselaer County.
Responsibilities & Support
A major responsibility of the Bureau is to manage the 911 Emergency Communications Center and the County’s sophisticated Emergency Services Communications System. Public Safety is also responsible for All Hazard Emergency Management coordination with County Government, local municipalities and State and Federal Agencies, such as the New York State Office of Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The Bureau also provides many support services to assist first responders with the delivery of their critical services to the Public.
