Adhering to the five guiding principles of Rensselaer County Unified Services.

1. Persons with disabilities will be involved in decision making at all levels in the community.

2. The community (schools, churches, businesses, etc.) will take ownership of and form partnerships with all citizens (notably including persons with disabilities) to insure that they are legitimate, fully participating members of the community.

3. All persons with disabilities will be able to contact and obtain needed tools/resources to realize their quality of life in the community.

4. The human services system should be driven by supporting individuals in their natural environments as opposed to being constrained by existing service models.
