Clinic Plus is a program developed and funded by the New York State Office of Mental Health for use in each county. The purpose of this program is to increase early recognition of emotional health issues in children, so that intervention can occur sooner and long term problems can be prevented.
With parental consent, free and confidential screenings are available to assess a child’s social and emotional development. These screenings can be done at a location of the parent’s choosing, such as home, school, or a health center. Based on the results of the screenings, the Clinic Plus Coordinator will discuss recommendations and options available to the child and family. Part of the mission of Clinic Plus is to make comprehensive assessment and evidence based treatment more accessible and effective, by offering both home and office based services and linkages to other community resources.
